Late August to late April brings the dark nights needed for aurora viewing. A stay of several nights gives you more opportunities to catch a clear evening.

Check the cloud cover and aurora forecast, dim the outdoor lights and give your eyes time to adjust. A warm layer and a camera are worth keeping by the door.

Questions

In the countryside on the edge of Mosfellsbær, just outside Reykjavík. By car it is about 22 minutes to the city centre, 47 minutes to Keflavík airport and 38 minutes to Þingvellir on the Golden Circle. We send the exact address before your stay.

A car is the easiest way to get here and to explore. The roads up to the houses are serviced all winter, and in eight years Agla and Haffi have never been stuck at home.
